A Thousand Shall Fall…
As I sit here, sipping on my coffee, thinking about where ‘we’ may be in the overall scheme of end time bible prophecy I can’t stop thinking that we must be very, very close to the end of the world, or at least life as we know it. Since we are living in pre/post or current tribulation times (depending on one’s point of view) I know we must be approaching the time we have all looking forward to – that is heading ‘home’ (or heaven). I guess the question that keeps popping up in my mind is “will we be taken prior to certain adverse/catastrophic events prophesied to happen?” I certainly pray we will be harpazo’d (caught up/raptured) prior to any cataclysmic events – I personally think we will be. Here’s the big ‘BUT’; will we have to endure, perhaps to a lesser extent, some of these adverse events prior to our being taken away from here?
While this may be an unsettling subject to some (mainly me) I think it needs to be looked at. Though we don’t want to be the person that says “my lord delays his coming” we also don’t want to be the person who is not prepared for the possible ‘tarrying’ of the Father.
I hold to the philosophy of “prep, pray, and stay out of the way”. I believe I have mentioned this in a past article. While I’m looking and praying for the “Elect” to be taken very soon, I’m also preparing for a “tarrying” time – just in case. I would rather be like the ‘ant’ and not the ‘sluggard’ (read Proverbs 6). There are those who don’t understand why I have closets full of water and boxes storage food, but that’s OK. I view prepping like an insurance policy – you don’t need it until you need it.
We want things to wrap up now but if they don’t, remember the adage ‘prep, pray, and stay out of the way’ and Proverbs 6:6 – Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.
As I’m finishing up my coffee I’m still reflecting on what might be in store in our near future – praying we are resurrected prior to the catastrophic events but also realizing our time here may be extended a little longer. Thus, we need to be prepared for either scenario. Though we may get caught up in some type of threatening ‘event’ going on around us please note the following scripture; Psalm 91:7 “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee”. I take solace in this verse, perhaps you can to.
With some notable ‘high watch dates’ (to be harpazo’d) coming up we can walk confidently knowing that we will soon be ‘taken’ or ‘protected’ from the things coming upon this earth.
I’m going back for a second cup of coffee.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
